Kemar Roofe saluted as Rangers' 'leader' in attack as coach pinpoints Scott Arfield's unseen impact

Rangers coach Michael Beale reckons Kemar Roofe 's experience has brought a new dimension to the Ibrox attack.

The experienced 27-year-old has been a terrific addition to the squad, grabbing seven goals in 13 appearances including his already legendary lob against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

And coach Beale reckons his know-how gives the team added direction in forward areas that has complemented his younger colleagues Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

He told Rangers TV: "I think having Kemar Roofe come into the team has brought us a leader in the final third.

"We forget how young Alfredo is and Ryan Kent.

"They are the same age and we almost forget that with Alfredo because he carries himself with such strength and he's so commanding on the pitch but he's a young man.

"So I think having Kemar in there who is a little bit older brings us that bit of experience."

Another player who is impressing at the moment is Scott Arfield with the Canadian international slotting home the winning goal against Standard Liege on Thursday.

He's been in fine form since a positive cameo against Dundee United in early November helped him find his way into the first XI.

He said: "Scott Arfield at the moment is having a wonderful time of it. He wasn't in the team as the manager mentioned at the start of the season but that's his seventh goal and he's had seven assists probably in the last 15 games.

"He scored against Galatasaray, Benfica and again last night so Scotty is in a great place and he deserves it because he gives our team a lot that people don't see.

"On a daily basis around the training ground he's so positive. I've spoken before about coming across some unique characters in your career, you see a lot of players, and Scott's positivity is something the coaching staff are very thankful for and his performances speak for themselves."
