Kemar Roofe's Rangers antagonist branded 'small' as wonder goal rammy leaves pundit raging

Angry Standard Liege assistant boss Eric Deflandre has been ripped to shreds in the wake of his Kemar Roofe wonder goal mix-up.

The Belgians No.2 and his antics have left respected pundit Johan Boskamp fizzing with nasty scenes following the Rangers striker's stunner in the 2-0 Europa League win on Thursday.

Deflandre was on the warpath at the final whistle and headed straight to Roofe as he squared up with the former Anderlecht striker following his goal for the ages.

The Rangers hero signalled the letters 'A' and 'L' but the celebration was in tribute to his children Alarnie and Luna rather than to fan the flames against a former rival.

And Deflandre's angry man routine that sparked the unsavoury scenes at the final whistle has led to a public dressing down from 72-year-old Boskamp.

The former player turned broadcaster has labelled the Liege hothead "small" for clashing with Roofe and failing to respect social distancing amid the pandemic.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard himself was miffed with the antics of the Belgians in the wake of his side's comprehensive win.

He said: “They are obviously very frustrated that they have been beaten for the first time in six years on their home patch.

“It's not nice to lose a football match, especially when you're the favourites to win them. We can understand the frustrations but it was disappointing. We thought it could have been avoided."
