Kemar Roofe's halfway line Rangers stunner up against Paul Pogba and Patrik Schick for UEFA goal of the season

At the time Steven Gerrard described the goal as the best he's ever seen live, and UEFA seem to agree.

Kemar Roofe 's sensational strike from the halfway line against Standard Liege is now being put up against the top strikes from across Europe to find out the undisputed goal of the season across Europe.

The Rangers man grabbed the headlines with his stunner in the Europa League and the governing body are including it in a special vote.

Following on from Euro 2020, UEFA are capping off the campaign with a fan poll to pick the best goal from the 2020/21 campaign.

Roofe's wonder goal have to rise above some stern competition including Manchester United ace Paul Pogba's curler for France against Switzerland at the finals, and Lorenzo Insigne's brilliant individual effort for Italy against Belgium.

And it will be a tough one to rewatch for the Tartan Army, but Patrik Schick's goal from the centre of Hampden over the head of David Marshall is also in the running.

Fans have less than 10 days to make their choice and pick their favourite strike.

Roofe's audacious punt forward is going to take some beating. To check out the competition and cast your vote visit UEFA.com.
