Kemar Roofe's full injury absence revealed by Leeds United after Australia problem

Injury will keep Kemar Roofe out of action for four weeks at Leeds United after hurting his ankle in Saturday's match at Bankwest Stadium.

The 26-year-old limped off inside the first 60 minutes against Western Sydney Wanderers after extending himself for a cross behind him in the opposition penalty box.

Four days later, on Wednesday afternoon, the club finally announced details of the problem, which is not as severe as their medical staff first feared.

Roofe is expected to  be ready to return to action in four weeks' time. Brentford's Championship visit to Elland Road is four weeks today.

A club statement said: "Kemar Roofe will return to action in four weeks after scans revealed his injury suffered against Western Sydney Wanderers was not as severe as first feared.

"Roofe was substituted during the friendly win Down Under, with a high ankle injury.

"Following further examination from our medical team, it has been confirmed the injury is a sprain and not a long-term injury and the forward will step up his recovery at Thorp Arch immediately."
