Kemar Roofe ruled out for four weeks but Rangers star doesn't need surgery

Kemar Roofe will be out injured for around one month with a shoulder injury.

The Rangers striker was dealt a cruel injury blow as he trudged off after hitting an extra-time winner over Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup semi-final at Hampden.

Roofe, 30, landed awkwardly and couldn't continue with a shoulder issue - but fortunately he did not suffer a break or dislocation.

However, Beale has revealed he will still be out for four weeks even without having to undergo surgery.

It means there is a possibility Kemar will be fully fit to feature in the Viaplay Cup showdown with Celtic next month.

The Ibrox boss said: "I think he will be four weeks.

"Kemar is not going to go down the surgical route with it. It's one that is in between giving it time or having surgery.

"Kemar has decided that he is feeling better but will be three or four weeks before we see him back.

"It will probably be the middle of February, in time for the cup final, good timing for Kemar."

Further explaining Roofe's comeback timeline, Beale said: "It was one or the other. It was depending on what the specialist said about having an operation or letting it try and heal.

"It depends on what grade it is, I'm not an expert in that area but that's what I've been told to regurgitate back to you guys."

While Rangers will be without Roofe for the visit to St Johnstone tomorrow, fellow striker Antonio Colak will return from the sidelines after a "slight" injury issue.

Confirming the news, Beale said: "Antonio is back, yeah."
