Kemar Roofe reveals the Rangers 'key thing' that's fuelling title drive as he talks up Motherwell comeback

Rangers' two-goal hero Kemar Roofe believes the strength of the Ibrox squad is the "key thing" for their title challenge.

Steven Gerrard 's side went 1-0 down to Motherwell at Ibrox on Saturday, having been eliminated from the Betfred Cup in midweek.

The manager's changes were key though with Ianis Hagi impressing off the bench and Cedric Itten scoring to put Rangers ahead.

Roofe bagged the other two in a 3-1 win and he believes the impact players are making from the bench has been a key factor in establishing a 16-point lead.

Roofe told Rangers TV : "It was important because of the loss in the week, the loss hurt us.

"We had to make sure today that we showed character and fight and got the three points.

"It doesn't matter if we go a goal down we just have to believe in ourselves that we're going to score.

"All the subs that came on changed the game for us and that's the key thing with our squad.

"The starting XI do our best and then the guys that come on add more energy.

"They never drop the standards and they changed the game."
