Kemar Roofe on the quality of his Rangers teammates and where he sees his role in the side

Kemar Roofe has spoken about how easy it's been to settle at Rangers given the quality of player around him.

The striker got off the mark for his new club in last weekend's victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

He slotted the ball home after some superb set up play by Borna Barisic, having just hit the post after meeting one of the Croatian's trademark crosses moments earlier.

And Roofe says the quality of service he's been getting is every striker's dream.

He said: "It makes it a lot easier because it takes one thing of your mind. It becomes automatic.

"Knowing that you've got the belief and trust that many players will give you the service and delivery, it's what strikers ask for."

He added: "The more quality you have around you the better you're going to be. The more help you get.

"But it's not about me. It's about the team as well. The best eleven for that game will be selected and it's about getting the three points. If we get the three points it doesn't matter who scores."

Roofe says he's predominantly a central striker, but he's at ease playing anywhere across Rangers' front line.

He added that the amount of rotation in attack makes it an attractive team to play in.

He said: "I like all positions, but I like number 9. This is where I've been playing for the last few years, down the middle. But with this system we play, any of the four positions is ideal because there's a lot of rotation – there's no one fixed position.

"Nobody just stays in their hole, everyone is moving and rotating. There's a lot of flexibility which I like."
