Kemar Roofe makes Rangers vow as he tells Steven Gerrard he's ready to go

Rangers new boy Kemar Roofe has told gaffer Steven Gerrard he’s ready to make his debut against St Mirren.

The £3.5million frontman, signed from Anderlecht last week, only met up with his Ibrox team-mates on Friday on their return from Europa League duty in Germany. Roofe’s last competitive game was in
Belgium last December.

But with Alfredo Morelos’ Rangers place in doubt, the 27-year-old claims he’s fit and available for selection if his manager needs him for Sunday's game against St Mirren.

Roofe said: “I’ll be ready to play on Sunday if the manager needs me.

“Fitness wise, I’ll have to take it game by game. You can do all the running in training or play in
pre-season games but it’s only the
competitive matches you get tested.

“I haven’t been with the group yet because of the Europa League.

“But I’ve been training with the fitness coaches and I’m ready.”

The striker - who can also play out wide - had an injury hit season at Anderlecht but still managed seven goals in 16 appearances for Vincent Kompany's men.
