Kemar Roofe makes Rangers' St Mirren admission as he insists whole squad still 'hurts'

Rangers star Kemar Roofe admits the whole squad is still angry by their loss to St Mirren and revealed it's inspiring them to keep up their league form.

Rangers have scored six goals in two games since crashing out of the Betfred Cup last Wednesday and were particularly impressive as they ripped St Johnstone apart.

And Roofe revealed the whole team are 'hurt' by the result in Paisley and hopes it can keep his team-mates focused on the 'one game at a time' mentality that has been instilled in the team.

The English-born frontman was playing as the main striker on Wendesday night and grabbed a goal, and he insists it doesn't matter where in the attack he plays, he'll always do the same job.

He told RangersTV: "It’s football, positions is just on paper. When the game plays you need to adapt and see how the game goes and go with the flow and that’s part of the game.

"We take it game by game, and we needed three points. It all stems from the St Mirren game as well, it still hurts us, it’s given us an extra boost to keep pushing."

Roofe tapped in after Ianis Hagi's shot was palmed away by Zander Clark and he was delighted for the Romanian playmaker, who was making his first league start since June.

He said: "He’s been waiting along time for a start, in training he’s been showing it. When he come on in games he’s been showing it, and today he really did show it.

"He got an assist and a goal and it was a great performance."
