Kemar Roofe laughs off Rangers guard of honour question as striker gives Celtic call a two-word response

Focused Kemar Roofe admits is concentrating on a Rangers win over Celtic rather than the formalities before kick-off.

The newly-crowned Premiership champions head to Celtic Park in the third derby of the season next weekend.

Steven Gerrard's side snubbed the guard of honour at Ibrox after the Hoops had clinched their eighth title under Neil Lennon and it remains to be seen if the arch-rivals will shun the tradition as well.

However, striker Roofe laughed off the topic on ESPN admitting he hasn't thought about the pre-match tradition and only wants to get the win on derby day.

He said: “We’re still thinking that we have to go in and win.

"With the rivalry up here and the fans, it doesn’t matter if you are the champions or not, you still have to win this game.

“It’s so important. You can’t go in just thinking you have done it or you have won it the league and we don’t need to turn up.

"The league doesn’t matter in this game, you just have to win it.”

On the guard of honour, Roofe smiled adding: “To be honest I haven’t put any thought into it just yet and to be honest, I don’t care, I just want to win. Play well and win.”
