Kemar Roofe draws Rangers comparison over why playing for Jamaica is 'more challenging'

Rangers hitman Kemar Roofe believes he's becoming a bona fide international player after netting his first goal for Jamaica in a World Cup 2022 qualifier.

The striker opened the scoring for the Reggae Boyz as they swept past Honduras 2-0 to secure their first CONCACAF qualification victory.

Roofe was born in Walsall but his ancestry makes him eligible for the Caribbean country.

Now racing to return to Glasgow in time for Rangers' top of the table showdown with Hearts this weekend, the 28-year-old reckons he's found his place on the international stage.

And he believes the lack of time to adjust on the training pitch makes international football "more challenging" than the domestic game.

"I'm starting to get more comfortable," he said. "It's always difficult joining a new team and new players, new staff, a new style of play.

"It's a bit more difficult at the international level than at club level because at club level you can train with the team more to understand players and get to understand them quicker.

"But at the international level, it's all about games. You have no training sessions to actually get to know your teammates and their style of play, so that's why it's more challenging.

"I'm settled in now, I'm comfortable and I'm happy I'm here and enjoying it.

"Obviously, we need more points, we need wins and I'm confident that will come, it's just a matter of time."
