Kemar Roofe bemoans Rangers Deja Vu but insists clear heads will shine light on Benfica brilliance

Gutted Kemar Roofe admits it feels like a defeat after conceding two late goals against Benfica - but insists Rangers players can be proud of the result.

The Ibrox striker scored a stunning goal to put his side 2-0 up and although it finished 2-2, Roofe insists clear heads will make people realise it is still a good result.

Some supporters are naturally frustrated at throwing away a two goal lead for the second Europa League game in a row against Benfica and Roofe agrees that he's angry they've done it again.

A 3-3 draw in Portugal and a 2-2 draw at Ibrox would normally be considered great results and it's a sign of how far Rangers have come under Steven Gerrard.

Roofe said: "We're still confident we can get the job done. I believe we need a point from the next game to progress. We're going to work hard and get the three points here again next week.

“It feels like a defeat. It's the same as the first game at their place. 2-0 up, 3-1 ahead in Lisbon and we've come away with a draw. It's disappointing, but when you reflect on it it's still a good result because they're a top team.

"Thankfully my goal went in and it was a good hit, but at the end of the day it doesn't mean much because we didn't get the three points."
