Kemar Roofe's return to the Rangers side is a "big boost" ahead of the key Europa League clash with Slavia Prague claims Alex McLeish.
After a spell on the sidelines the striker was on the bench for the first leg in Prague and came off the bench for the final 10 minutes of the 1-1 draw.
The Premiership champions hold the advantage after the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie but the Czech league leaders dominated in the opening stages, and it took a stunning Allan McGregor save to stop them winning it at the death.
Rangers know a clean sheet will be enough to get them to the quarter-finals - but McLeish reckons it could be Roofe's firepower that sees them through.
Speaking about the striker's return, McLeish told Ibrox News : "It’s a big boost.
“It gives us more options for the position upfront, which is exactly what made it tougher in the past couple of seasons when there wasn’t the competitive cover.
“We’ve missed that, and Roofe has proved a great signing this season. Not just the spectacular goals in Europe, he’s a busy bee around the box and he’s got the sniff for a goal.”
Roofe has hit ten Scottish Premiership goals this season - the same number as Alfredo Morelos, despite starting eight fewer games.
He's also stuck twice in the Europa League and Steven Gerrard has been boosted by the the striker's return as they hope to go one stage further than last season by reaching the quarter-final.
Ryan Jack however remains unavailable and speaking at his press conference this morning Gerrard said: "Ryan won't be involved tomorrow night.
"We'll make a decision on the weekend when we need to but he'll be ruled out for tomorrow's game."
