Kelvingrove Museum to remain closed for the rest of today after this morning’s electrical fault

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum remains closed for the rest of today (Wednesday) following an electrical fault this morning - but staff are hoping to get the attraction open again tomorrow.

As reported on Glasgow Live , the west end venue was shut for emergency repairs, with engineers brought in today to help restore power after an outage.

The latest update on the Kelvingrove Twitter feed , shortly after 3pm, reads: “ Kelvingrove will remain closed for the remainder of today. Engineers are in the process of restoring power and we will carry out building checks before looking to reopen tomorrow as normal. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and will update when we have confirmation of reopening.”

A spokesman for Glasgow Life confirmed: “Kelvingrove will remain closed for the remainder of today. Engineers are in the process of restoring full power and we will carry out building checks before looking to reopen tomorrow as normal. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

The news disappointed many fans looking to head along today - but fingers crossed that Kelvingrove reopens as normal in time for Thursday after a stressful day for staff.
