Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum closed due to ‘urgent repairs’

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has been forced to close its doors today following an electrical issue which requires urgent repair.

The west end venue tweeted the news around 9.30am, with no further information on when it will reopen.

@KelvingroveArt shared: “Important … we are currently closed due to an electrical issue. We apologise for any inconvenience. We will provide updates as soon as possible.”

An update shared shortly before 10am added: “Please note due to urgent repairs Kelvingrove is currently closed. We are working as quickly as possible to rectify the issue and will update this page as soon as we know when the venue will reopen.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.”

It’s bad news for anyone taking the kids along during the summer break - but fingers crossed that one of Glasgow’s favourite attractions reopens soon.

We’ll provide more info as soon as we have it.
