Kelvin Fletcher 'struggling to find work' after being turned down for 10 roles

Kelvin Fletcher has told fans he is struggling to find work at the moment - and he has been turned down for 10 jobs.

The Emmerdale actor, who played hunky Andy Sugden in the soap, opened up about his career during an Instagram Live and told fans he is tired of hearing the word no.

Strictly winner Kelvin admitted it is hard working in the acting industry and shared the realities with his followers.

He said during the live session: "A friend of mine, an actress, just messaged me and said, 'I can't even get a f***ing self-tape.'"

"So I know how frustrating those little selfies are, because I've been that person thinking, 'Even they are working now.'

"Let me tell you, I've had about 10 nos in these last few months."

Kelvin revealed he has bagged himself a new TV role after being rejected multiple times, and he urged others to continue

"So, keep the faith. Patience is key, as I always say," he continued.

"It's only a little gig, so don't be getting too bothered."

Kelvin added a bit of positivity to his message, as he concluded: "For all those out there who, like me, are sick of hearing the nos, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more nos after this one.

"But I'm enjoying this while it is. Thus, the obligatory trailer selfie. It's obviously p***ed off quite a few people - enjoy!"

Kelvin is set to star in a new Channel 5 drama alongside Sheridan Smith.

Teacher is a psychological thriller which follows Jenna, a state schoolteacher, whose life unravels after being accused of a drunken sexual encounter with one of her pupils.

With no memory of the night in question, Jenna's only hope of redemption lies in uncovering the truth about a dark event in her past that returns to haunt her.

Sheridan, 39, will play Jenna, while Ackley Bridge actor Samuel Bottomley will star opposite Sheridan as the pupil at the centre of the sexual encounter Jenna finds herself in.

Kelvin enjoyed a successful career on Emmerdale, before he left the soap in 2016.
