Kellyoke thrives: 'Kelly Clarkson Show' renewed

There's a lot more Kellyoke in our future.

"The Kelly Clarkson Show" was renewed Monday by NBCUniversal for a second season.

That's no surprise. Clarkson's show, which debuted in September, is the No. 1 new daytime entry and ranks fourth among all syndicated daytime talk shows.

With an average 1.9 million viewers per episode, Clarkson is doing better than any daytime newcomer in seven years.

Clarkson became a public favorite when she won the first season of "American Idol." She is now a coach on NBC's "The Voice." And she opens each episode of her talk show with Kellyoke, a cover of a hit.

For Kellyoke this week, Clarkson will perform Brandi Carlile's "The Story" on Tuesday, Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still" on Wednesday and Pharell Williams' "Happy" on Friday. Thursday's show will feature the "Voice" coaches and a surprise Kellyoke.

Clarkson's other guests are Chrissy Teigen and James Wolk on Tuesday, Seth Meyers and Marie Kondo on Wednesday, and Whitney Cummings and Lil Rel Howery on Friday.

"'The Kelly Clarkson Show' is connecting with viewers in a unique way, and we are so happy to build on that momentum, bringing Kelly's brand of humor, heart and, of course, the incredible Kellyoke, to stations for a second season," said Tracie Wilson, executive vice president, creative affairs, NBCUniversal Television Distribution.
