Kellyanne Conway has likened Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner to Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.
Last week, it emerged that Mr Platner, the presumptive nominee in Maine, had sent sexually explicit text messages to multiple women early in his marriage. He is also facing backlash for a tattoo which resembled a Nazi symbol that he received during his time in the military.
Speaking to Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Monday (1 June), Ms Conway, a former advisor to Donald Trump, called for Democrats to denounce Mr Platner with a bizarre comparison to the grand wizard, who was also a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
“Remember, everybody who’s a Republican anywhere had to disclaim David Duke, even if we never met him, had a meal with him, agreed with anything he said,” she said.
