Kelly Mary Fauvrelle stabbing: Man charged with murder of pregnant woman and manslaughter of baby

The Royal Mail worker was stabbed to death in her bedroom on 29 June ( Metropolitan Police/PA )

A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a heavily pregnant woman in her Croydon home and the manslaughter of her son, who was delivered by paramedics at the scene of her death.

Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, a Royal Mail worker, was eight months pregnant when she was killed in her bedroom in Thornton Heath, south London in the early hours of 29 June.

The 26-year-old’s unborn child, named Riley by family members, was delivered at the scene but died in hospital four days later.

The incident took place while Ms Fauvrelle’s family were at the home on Raymead Avenue. Relatives were alerted to the incident by the victim’s screams at around 3:30am.

Aaron McKenzie of Peckham Park Road, Peckham, was arrested on Thursday and taken to a central London police station by the Metropolitan Police.

He has since been charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon on top of charges of murder and manslaughter, and will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Two men had previously been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the case.

One, a 37-year-old, was released with no further action. The second, 29, has been released on bail until early August.
