Kelly Macdonald impresses Line of Duty viewers with two little words - as she admits she doesn't watch show

Line of Duty actor Kelly Macdonald received huge acclaim from Line Of Duty fans for her acting in the latest episode - particularly over her two little words.

Kelly whose character DCI Joanne Davidson stars alongside Martin Compston and Vicky McClure in the hit cop show series, initially got a lukewarm reaction from viewers after she joined the show.

The reaction was so intense that Kelly admitted it stopped her from watching the show and reading their comments, but now the tide has turned.

Last night the Glasgow born talent wowed in her scenes as she was embroiled in a 29-minute interrogation at AC-12's HQ.

People found it amusing that Kelly managed put so much emotion into saying 'no comment' throughout the questioning process and even said she was better than watching the Oscars.

Kelly, who later appeared on BBC Breakfast to re-enact her 'no comment scenes' also admitted it can be hard not to laugh when Adrian Dunbar's character Superintendent Ted Hastings comes out with his classic Ted-isms, including last night's "Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey".

She told the show: "I'm in this weird world where I'm not watching it and I'm also not going on line. You said thirteen million and thats a lot of people watching it but I'm not one of them. I watched the first episode and then I went online and it took me a week to not be mental any more - and it was just too much for me I'm afraid."

Kelly should now rest assured that she's won over the hearts of committed Line of Duty fans who heaped praise on her acting.

One said: "Kelly Macdonald is one outstanding actress...considering she was there to just repeat the same 2 words for an entire episode."

Another said: "Managing to convey so many emotions while only speaking the same two words is true mastery. Kelly Macdonald is amazing ! #LineOfDuty."

Another added: "I wondered at the beginning of #LineofDuty6 why they had chosen Kelly MacDonald to play the lead bitch when she does complex vulnerable so well - turns out she's complex vulnerable after all."

Someone else suggested: "I hope kelly macdonald gets an award for this episode because on my god what a performance #LineOfDuty."
