Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock's split came as a huge shock to her fans, but it's claimed the couple "clashed on so many levels" before calling it a day.
The Because of You singer, 38, and her ex reportedly fell out over their move from Nashville to Hollywood.
She had launched her own talk show as well as being a coach on The Voice, which kept her very busy.
Kelly filed for divorce to end her nearly seven-year marriage to the talent manager, 43, on June 4, citing irreconcilable differences.
"When she went to Hollywood, it changed things," a source told Us Weekly.
Brandon is said to "prefer their quiet life in Nashville".
The insider added: "They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return."
They continued: "Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they definitely didn't.
"Brandon's very laid-back, whereas Kelly's pretty high-strung.”

Kelly and Brandon married in 2013 and share two children together - daughter River, five, and four-year-old son Remington.
Brandon also has two children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Steph.
In new legal documents, the mother-of-two has reportedly stated she wants joint custody of their children.
She also reportedly wants their pre-nup enforced in the split.
