Kellogg’s shoots down the idea of a ranch dressing Pop-Tart

The ranch-dressing-flavored Pop-Tarts? That idea is toast.

After a fan tossed out the suggestion on social media, Hidden Valley Ranch was all in on whipping up such a snack. The brand’s official account retweeted a user’s suggestion and asked Pop-Tarts to team up, “Hey @PopTartUS – let’s have some fun and give the people what they want,” it wrote.

Kellogg has expanded its Pop-Tarts portfolio to include flavors such as strawberry milkshake and brownie batter. But the cereal and breakfast food maker declined Hidden Valley’s offer, responding on Twitter with “lol no.”

A Kellogg representative confirmed that the company is not producing the flavor and hasn’t planned to develop one.

Still, some are passionate about the idea. Twitter user @blxxdyaicha wrote “Make it happen chief,” to which Pop-Tarts replied “delete your account, chief.”

The pictures of ranch dressing-flavored Pop-Tarts come from an Instagram account called PopTartADay, which posts edited pictures of fictional Pop-Tarts with wacky flavors, ranging from Denim, Squid Ink to Dad, Feet and SpongeBobs.

The popular posts regularly get hundreds of retweets and likes, as well as comments on the various modified fake Pop-Tart images.

Twitter user @Luigilito1 commented with a picture, in which the Pop-Tarts only have crust without anything in the middle. Another user, @natureboiwoof, tweeted an image of PopTarts with the flavor of “orange juice and toothpaste”.
