Kellie Harrington's Olympic boxing final time, date, TV channel information, opponent and more

Kellie Harrington will face Brazil's Beatriz Ferreira in the Olympic lightweight final as she aims to win a gold medal.

The Dubliner is fighting in the same weight division that Katie Taylor won gold in nine years ago in London.

Harrington defeated Thailand's Sudaporn Seesonde in a semi-final bout on Thursday morning and will now take on Ferreira in the final, which takes place at 6am on Sunday and will be shown live on RTE Two.

Having received a bye into the last 16, the 31-year-old Dubliner beat Italy's Rebecca Nicoli and, on Tuesday Algeria's Imane Khelif in the quarter-final to guarantee herself at least the bronze medal.

But now she can attempt to join Taylor as an Olympic gold medal winner, after Taylor's success at London 2012.

Speaking after her win over Seesonde, Harrington said: "I'm actually speechless for a change. I still have one more fight to go.

"What is really touching is the support at home.

"I feel on top of the world to be able to do that for a little nation."
