A Keith Urban doppelgänger has claimed the country star made a joke about his divorce from Nicole Kidman weeks before it made the news.
Earlier this year, the entertainment was thrown into chaos after Urban and Kidman officially split after 19 years of marriage, with the beloved Aussie actor officially filing for divorce.
As each party attempts to move on from the devastating breakup — with Kidman absolutely slaying the cover of Vogue following the split — one fan has claimed that he got a hint of the divorce before it made it to headlines.
Speaking to TMZ, Dale Whiteside revealed he had a “bizarre interaction” with Urban during a September meet-and-greet during his Saskatoon leg of his High and Alive World Tour.
During the interaction, Whiteside said Urban and he were chatting about their physical similarities, with Whiteside telling the singer that his wedding ring and tattoos were what made them different.
The look-a-likes then took a pic together, but before the meet-and-greet wrapped up , Whiteside claimed Urban said, “Next time, it’ll probably be just the tattoos” that’ll help the public tell them apart.
Whiteside said he didn’t understand what Urban meant until two weeks later when news of a split between Urban and Kidman went viral.
Neither Kidman nor Urban have come forward to publicly address the split or provide a reason why they decided to part ways.
However, some fans believe the country singer might’ve soft launched the split before it made headlines.
In a September 2025, social media post from guitarist Maggie Baugh, Urban slightly tweaked the lyrics to “The Fighter”, a song about the early days of his relationship with Kidman. He made the tweaks while performing beside Baugh.
Instead of belting out: “When they’re tryna get to you / baby I’ll be the fighter”, The Voice coach sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player”.
Shortly after Baugh shared the video, Kidman fans took to the comments to slam Urban, with one person calling it “the ultimate ick”.
Again, neither Kidman nor Urban have publicly addressed the hullabaloo surrounding their shock divorce. However, something tells me Urban’s next musical project could hold all the tea we’re fanging for.
