Keith Urban abruptly ends interview after being asked how he feels about Zac Efron and his wife

Keith Urban recently ended a virtual interview suddenly after being asked questions about his wife, Nicole Kidman’s, romantic scenes in movies, especially those with Zac Efron.

The incident happened during his appearance on a morning radio show, where the hosts warned him they were about to ask something very personal and awkward. As found by Page Six, the interview took place over Zoom, with hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford bringing up the delicate subject. Peterson admitted she felt uncomfortable even asking the question, so Burford went ahead and asked it directly. He asked, “What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?”

Burford mentioned Kidman’s 2024 Netflix movie, A Family Affair. In that film, Kidman acted alongside Efron, who is much younger than her. After Burford asked the question about Kidman’s on-screen romantic roles, there was silence.

Keith Urban hangs up after awkward question from radio hosts

A producer for the radio show told the hosts that Urban and his team had left the Zoom call. The producer made it clear they believed Urban’s team had disconnected on purpose to avoid answering the question. Peterson agreed, saying she was sure the sudden exit was because of the question and that she had expected this kind of reaction. She also mentioned that Urban usually avoids talking about his wife in public.

Burford, meanwhile, wondered if this would cause bad feelings between Urban and the radio show after the interview ended so abruptly, saying “Does Keith Urban hate us? Do we have beef with Keith Urban?”

This situation shows that Keith Urban has clear boundaries when it comes to public discussions about his wife’s career, especially her more intimate acting roles. Urban and Kidman have been married since June 2006 and recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.

The couple has two daughters, Sunday, who is 16, and Faith, who is 14. Even though they are both famous, Urban and Kidman usually keep their family life private. The way the interview ended so suddenly seems to prove Urban’s consistent effort to protect his marriage and his wife’s acting career from too much public scrutiny, especially when it involves her performing romantic or intimate scenes on screen.
