Keith Lemon plans a 'be kind festival' in tribute to Caroline Flack

Keith Lemon is one of the people behind a festival honouring TV presenter Caroline Flack.

The 40-year-old took her own life earlier this month leaving fans and friends incredibly shocked.

Since her death, there’s been lots of discussion on social media about the best way to honour the star.

Friend Keith Lemon, AKA Leigh Francis, 46, is one of the people working on the 'be kind festival'.

Our colleagues at The Mirror report the event would be a day of  music, food, guest speakers and wellness events with a strong focus on mental wellbeing.

Keith said: “Like everyone I was absolutely shocked by the news of what happened to Caroline.

“All the recent events just seemed so unreal. I’d been friends with Caroline for many years, since before telly happened.

“In more recent times, I’d not seen Caroline as much as I had years ago but it was always like old times when I saw her.

“So someone on Twitter said wouldn’t it be great to do a festival for Flack. Which I thought was a great idea."

Plans for the festival are at an early stage but we’ll bring you more on it when we have more detail.

Keith has also launched a T-shirt featuring one of his sketches of Caroline with her words ‘be kind’ on it.

All proceeds will go to the Samaritans counselling organisation.

In Leeds, an event in honour of Caroline Flack is also happening.

Danielle Hindley, 35, is one of the joint organisers of the event, where women are being invited to wear black dresses outside Leeds Town Hall at 2pm on Sunday, March 1.
