Keith Earls giving away jersey he wore in All Blacks win to raise money for Barnardos

Keith Earls is giving away a priceless piece of history to help raise money for Barnardos Ireland during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ireland and Munster winger has dug through the closet and is raffling off the jersey he wore in Ireland's historic 2018 win over New Zealand - a first on Irish soil.

Earls is urging fans to donate whatever they can to help the charity, with every donation to the cause in with a chance of claiming the brilliant prize.

"I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Barnardos Ireland. Barnardos front line staff have rapidly adapted their essential services to children and families since the Coronavirus crisis began," Earls said in an Instagram post on Tuesday evening.

"They are delivering door drops with basics, like food parcels and baby supplies as well as providing vital emotional and practical support to families who are reaching breaking point.

"So, I’ve been searching my brain for a way I can help really vulnerable children and families in Ireland. This is the jersey I wore against New Zealand, our first win on home soil in the Aviva.

"I’m going to run a giveaway over my social media accounts and would encourage you to donate what you can if you’re interested in owning this jersey signed by myself. It was worn during a pivotal game for Irish Rugby and I am hoping it is somewhat of a collector’s item.

"No matter what you can give, big or small, it will go a very long way in supporting Ireland’s most vulnerable children and families at this time. Anyone who donates will be included in the raffle. Link in my bio.

"I’ll pick a winner randomly next week Tuesday the 7th of April. All support is greatly appreciated."

Earls has previously pleaded with the public to listen to HSE advice over the Coronavirus outbreak.

The winger, who has a young daughter with a serious medical condition, last month admitted he was worried how some people in Ireland are reacting to the spread of the virus.

Earls tweeted: "As a father of a child with a serious respiratory lung condition and many others like her, I urge the public to please listen to the professionals.

"I will do everything I can to protect her. Everyone has a part to play. I'm usually a private person but the actions of some people are really starting to worry me.

"This is an extremely worrying and scary time and we all need to take immediate action. Please."
