Keith Earls agrees new one year IRFU deal to remain with Munster until summer of 2022

Keith Earls has signed on for another year on an IRFU central contract.

Earls, 33, will stay with Munster until at least the end of the 2021-22 season.

The Reds winger started the first two games of this year's Six Nations campaign for Ireland and came off the bench to score the final try in the recent victory in Rome.

"Munster and Ireland are building strong squads with exciting talent coming through ensuring two very competitive environments," said Earls.

"I want to play a role for Munster this season and next and I am as passionate as ever about pulling on the green jersey and being successful with Ireland."

Earls, who made his Ireland debut against Canada in 2008, has played 91 times in green and scored 33 tries - including eight at Rugby World Cups - making him Ireland’s second top try scorer of all time.

A Lions tourist in South Africa in 2009, he started every game of Ireland’s 2018 Grand Slam Six Nations campaign.

He has played 177 times for Munster 177 times, scoring 57 tries having made his debut in 2007.

David Nucifora, IRFU Performance Director, commented: "Keith is a vastly experienced senior international player who continues to perform for both Ireland and Munster.

"He is a model professional and sets a great example for young players coming through in both the provincial and national environments."
