Keith Duffy forced to pull out of Boyzone gig in Thailand after being rushed to hospital

Boyzone star Keith Duffy was forced to pull out of a gig in Thailand after falling ill.

The band broke the news on their official Twitter account, telling fans Duffy, 44, was taken to hospital in Bangkok on Wednesday evening.

“Keith was taken ill before the gig here in Bangkok this evening and has been admitted to hospital on the advice of the local medical team,” the tweet read.

“Our brother will be back on his feet as soon as possible and we thank you for all your wonderful support in the meantime.”

They posted a picture of Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch performing as a three piece.

Duffy appeared to be in good health on arriving in Bangkok earlier this week after posting a video of himself giving a shout out to Irish rock bad Picture This.

“Greetings from Bangkok,” he said. “Have a great night. God bless you.”

Boyzone are currently on their Thank You and Goodnight tour which kicked off on January 23.

It will take them to Australia next month as well as New Zealand, Dubai and Belgium before wrapping up at The Grand in Clapham, London.

The tour has seen the band pay tribute to former member Stephen Gately who died aged 33 in 2009.

Boyzone formed in 1993 and had hits with No Matter What and Love Me For A Reason. They split in 1999 before reuniting in 2007.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Boyzone for comment.
