Keir Street Edinburgh: fire breaks out on Edinburgh street with elderly woman rescued from blaze

An elderly woman was rescued from a tenement blaze that broke out in Keir Street, off Lauriston Place on Friday 24 April.

Four fire engines descended on the fire; one engine was still at the scene at 6.45am reports STV News.

The elderly woman was walked to safety by firefighters and treated at the scene by ambulance crews, but did not need hospital treatment.

Keir Street is in Edinburgh City Centre, opposite the Blood Donor Centre on Lauriston Place, and next door to what used to be the Edinburgh College of Art, and which is now known as Edinburgh University's Lauriston Campus.
