He is talking about Tony Abbott, the 62-year-old former Australian PM and climate change-denying, sexist homophobe who he has just appointed to help negotiate our post-Brexit trade deals.
Matt Hancock said of Mr Abbott’s terrible attitude to women and homosexuality: “Well, he’s also an expert in trade.”
So welcome aboard Mr Abbott, who once called abortion the “easy way out”.
