Daniel Auteuil and Yves Montand in Jean de Florette
You've got two more weeks to vote for your favourite foreign film of all time - a vote that could win you a £200 HMV gift card if we draw your name from the hat. We're now up to 329 different films nominated, and a clear top 20 is starting to emerge.
But we will not dwell on that. Instead, some questions for you: why has the marvellous Battle Royale got the same number of votes as the execrable Battle Royale II? Why was Eisenstein nowhere last week, but this week Battleship Potemkin has entered our chart at no 13? Is Three Colours: Blue worth seven times more votes than Three Colours: White? And did you know that you all think of Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources as the same film?
The cosmopolitan flavour remains: seven different nations feature in the top 10, with a further four in the next 10. So congratulations on your global outlook.
Now, if you haven't already voted, please do so: just email your top three, with a sentence or two explaining why you chose each, to film&music@theguardian.com, with Greatest Foreign Film in the subject header.
Or, post your choices to:
Greatest Foreign Film Film & Music The Guardian 119 Farringdon Road London EC1R 3ER
Just do it by April 27, and please read the terms and conditions.
