Keep fruit fresh in the fridge for two weeks with mum's simple money-saving hack

We've all been there - you've stocked up your fridge with fresh fruit and vegetables only for it to go stinky and soggy within a few days.

Well now, a woman has been praised after she revealed how she keeps her fruit fresher for longer.

Steph Gigliotti shared the handy hack on TikTok where she's amassed 70,000 followers with her tips and tricks like how to keep a toddler busy, different ways to use ice cube trays and more.

In the video, which has been viewed seven million times, Steph says the secret to fresh produce is to store it in the fridge in glass jars.

"I found this tip a couple of months ago so I've been testing it out and it works so well.

"If you put your fruit, like strawberries, in a glass jar in the refrigerator they stay fresh for two to three weeks."

Since being posted, the video has racked up more than one million likes and 6,700 comments from people who literally "sprinted" to their fridge to try the hack for themselves.

One person who admitted that they stopped strawberries because of how quickly they go bad was eager to give this hack a go.

Another person who revealed they did the same, shared the tip: "Place a folded napkin on the bottom and the top and it'll absorb all the moisture so they don't get soggy."

A third person added: "It also helps if you soak them in vinegar and water for 20 seconds then rinse them off and dry them! Learned on TikTok, keeps them fresh way longer."
