Keep an eye on Monocle magazine

The first issue of Monocle, the monthly magazine launched by Wallpaper creator Tyler Brule, was lampooned even before anyone had a chance to see it. But Juan Giner certainly likes it, calling "a reading pleasure" with its "unexpected topics" and lengthy articles in more than 200 pages. He says it's "elegant, compelling, trendy, different... journalism at its best." Edited by former Independent On Sunday features editor Andrew Tuck, it is printed in its own B5 size, which is slightly slimmer and shorter than A4, and it costs £5 a copy.
