The Los Angeles Chargers picked a good practice to give receiver Keenan Allen a microphone. The wideout ran what he called his “best route” of Chargers training camp. Los Angeles’ Twitter account released the audio from the impressive sequence of events.
In a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams, the Chargers were looking at a third-down scenario. To that, Allen responded: “Third down. My time to shine. .. Ya’ll Ain’ going to double me here. Watch this.”
He then ran a ridiculous stop-and-go route that completely fooled the Rams defensive back in coverage. (It’s unclear from the video which Rams defender it was.) Allen was then able to haul in a diving catch with cornerback Troy Hill in-tow. Here’s a look at the sequence.
