Kebabs, beans on toast and Nutella on new Six by Nico menu

Six by Nico has announced its latest theme - and it should prove popular with foodies who like nothing better than an indulgent treat.

We’re not talking lobster and truffles, however - because this menu is all about guilty pleasures.

Think six courses dedicated to those foods you’re too embarrassed to tell people you love - but, knowing the Finnieston favourite, they will be elevated to new heights.

Chef Nico Simeone will take diners of a tour of sweet and creamy, crispy or crunchy - not to mention those comfort food choices you usually make after one too many drinks.

The first course is Chippie Chips; pomme Anna, black garlic emulsion, pickled onion and ewes cheese. The second is an iconic Beans on Toast; crisp monkfish cheek, snow peas, broad bean pesto, hazelnut emulsion, pickled quail egg and brown crab toast.

Krispy Fried Chicken is up next, with pressed leg terrine, tomato ketchup, green tomato vierge, crispy hot wing and Kentucky hot sauce.

Curried cod follows, with caramelised cauliflower, caper and raisin puree, onion bhaji and Goan curry, followed by the ultimate late night dish - the kebab - with spiced lamb belly, roasted onion, rose harissa and lamb bacon choucroute.

Your dessert to end it all is a guilty pleasure classic; Nutella, or chocolate and praline cremeux, passionfruit and mango espuma and hazelnut and spelt waffle.

Chef Nico Simeone said: "Eating good food is one of life's greatest pleasures and with Guilty Pleasures we invite our guests to take a walk down a delicious, greasy memory lane. From 'junk food' favourites we can't live without to pleasure foods that we feel ashamed to eat, our new six course menu is packed with food that we all secretly love.”

Guilty Pleasures will run from August 20 until September 29, priced at £29 per person with drinks pairing available, and you can book a table for the Glasgow or Edinburgh restaurants now.
