He's the One, not just in the Matrix but also in the land of Marvel Studios.
Marvel Cinematic Universe chief Kevin Feige has confirmed to ComicBook.com that he is keen for Keanu Reeves to join the MCU.
Kevin Feige revealed: "We talk to him for almost every film we make. don't know when, if, or ever he'll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it."
The love for Reeves has been very evident this year with the success of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, his role in Toy Story 4, and all the love for the actor with memes on social media.
The star of the Matrix and John Wick franchises has been rumoured for MCU films for years now including a turn as Yonn-Rogg in Captain Marvel which was later cast with Jude Law, with some fans online advocating a number of characters for Reeves to play.
One fan tweeted: "Adam Warlock is a character created to be perfect. So whoever Marvel chooses to play him, according to them, is perfect. Keanu Reeves for Adam Warlock!"
Another suggested he should play the role of Silver Surfer/Norin Radd, tweeting a gif of the character and the caption: "In a perfect world...#KeanuReeves # MARVEL"
Marvel Comics writer Dan Slott tweeted: "I'm seeing lots of people saying Reed Richards, Adam Warlock, and Silver Surfer. My vote? Marc Spector: Moon Knight"
Another fan tweeted: "So with Marvel Studios trying to recruit Keanu Reeves.... PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE LET HIM PLAY WOLVERINE"
Even Jonathan Ross has an opinion and he got in there early before the Feige comments were revealed.
Jonathan Ross tweeted: "Dear Marvel. Keanu Reeves as Silver Surfer. Nicholas Cage as Galactus. Thank you. #MCU "
