When Kasabian jokingly said that Tom Chaplin entered rehab for an “addiction to port” after previously claiming he lived on “pies and Quavers”, the Keane frontman was hurt.
But now, after meeting the group at Coachella festival and saying “they were very nice”, Tom, above, holds Noel Gallagher responsible for their mud-slinging.
“They obviously learnt from Noel Gallagher,” he says. “He’s the king of that pathetic behaviour.”
Asked how he would react bumping into Noel, Tom previously retorted: “The best way to bump into Noel Gallagher is running fast with your fists out.”
Tom, who believes the public sparring was to sell more records, tells Q mag: “We musicians should all be a lot kinder to each other.
“It’s difficult enough having your music reviewed on trial by social media. But it stings when it’s musicians from other bands.”
Noel’s brother Liam – who called Tom a “posh lightweight” for seeking treatment for cocaine addiction – releases an album the same day as Keane next month.
