Keane Barry 'can't wait' for World Darts Championship debut against Vincent van der Voort

Keane Barry "can't wait" to make his PDC World Darts Championship debut against Vincent van der Voort of the Netherlands next month.

The 17-year-old from Duleek, Co Meath was drawn against van der Voort and will face world number 10 Dave Chisnall if he is succesful.

Taking to Twitter after learning his faith, Barry posted: "Draw is done for PDC World Championship and I’m playing Vincent van der Voort! Can’t wait!!"

The tournament takes place at the Alexandra Palace in London from December 13 until January 1, with Ireland being represented by eight players.

Derry's Daryl Gurney faces the winner of Justin Pipe and Benjamin Pratnemer in round two, while Kevin Burness will take on world number one Michael van Gerwen if he beats Jelle Klassen.

Meanwhile, Willie O'Connor from Limerick will have to overcome Marko Kantele of Finland to book a date with Gerwyn Price.

Tyrone's Mickey Mansell will play Japan's Seigo Asada and the winner will take on Keegan Brown.

Carlow man Steve Lennon faces Callan Rydz of England, with the winner clashing with Danny Noppert of the Netherlands. 

And Fermanagh's Brendan Dolan will face two-time world champion Gary Anderson if he can beat India's Nitin Kumar, while Ciaran Teehan from Cork will play England's Ross Smith.
