Keady fire being treated as arson attack as PSNI appeal for witnesses

Police investigating the report of a fire in an alleyway in Co Armagh are treating the incident as arson.

The blaze in an alleyway in the Fairgreen Avenue area of Keady happened at around 5:20pm on Friday June 11.

Officers responded and attended the scene, along with the NIFRS. Minor damage was caused to a pipe.

In a statement today, a PSNI spokesperson said: "The incident is being treated as arson at this time.

"Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who may have been in the area of Fairgreen Avenue/Market Square and saw anything suspicious to call 101, and quote reference number 1749 of 11/06/21.

"A report can also be made online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/."

Meanwhile, drivers are being warned of delays as 20 bands are expected to take part in a parade in East Belfast.

The East Belfast Memorial Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday evening, June 12, in the east of the city.

According to the Parades Commissions website, 20 bands are set to take part and there are expected to be 800 participants.
