KCom hooks up North Lincolnshire towns early as it avoids digging up new roads in £100m expansion

KCom has brought forward the expansion of its full fibre network to two north Lincolnshire communities to coincide with road resurfacing works.

Crowle and Haxey are to be hooked up earlier than planned as the opportunity to minimise disruption is grasped.

It is part of the Hull-headquartered company’s £100 million full fibre broadband roll-out.

Dale Raneberg, KCom chief executive, said: “Our team is based locally and working very closely with North Lincolnshire Council to minimise any disruption caused by street works and to maximise the benefits of delivering our full fibre broadband to as many communities as possible, as quickly as possible.

“We have adapted our rollout schedule across North Lincolnshire so that we can work in partnership with the council and install our fibre network before planned works to resurface roads and pavements commence.

“Many of the North Lincolnshire communities we are connecting have suffered from slower broadband speeds and lack of investment for years, but our full fibre broadband will open up a huge number of opportunities for people at home as well as local businesses.

“We are really encouraged by the level of interest we are seeing in Crowle and Haxey which shows there is a demand for quality broadband.”

Engineering work is underway. Following the launch at the start of the year, the broadband provider is already reaching Barton, Brigg, Barrow, Broughton, Scawby, Epworth, Messingham, Hibaldstow and Kirton in Lindsey.
