Kazakhstan reports bird flu outbreaks near Russian border: OIE

Kazakhstan reported seven outbreaks of highly pathogenic bird flu in backyards and villages in the northern part of the country near the Russian border, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said on Thursday.

The outbreaks killed a total of 1,763 birds and involved the H5 serotype, the OIE said, citing the Kazakh agriculture ministry.
