Kaz Kamwi has revealed that the meaning behind her name is 'girl' as she opened up in a candid YouTube vlog years before her Love Island debut.
The 26-year-old fashion blogger, who launched a YouTube channel in 2017, gave fans an insight into her life when she appeared in her first-ever video.
In the clip, Kaz - whose full name is Nkazana Kamwi - answered several insightful questions as she encouraged fans to like and subscribe to her channel.
Little would she know that just four years later, Kaz would shoot to fame on the ITV dating show on which she recently admitted that she had 'tiny feelings' for Tyler Cruickshank.
In one of her first questions, Kaz was asked whether she had a middle name. Instead she revealed that her parents had actually named her 'girl'.
She told viewers: "I don't have a middle name, my mum and dad just thought 'no' just name her 'girl'.
"Because my name means 'girl'. I feel like it is so disrespectful like at least throw something else in there."
Elsewhere in the vlog, Kaz also revealed that her favourite TV shows were certainly all romance based, including The Bachelor.
"Favourite TV shows ... Are you the one? The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, anything that is cute and quirky," she added.
She also shared several outtakes at the end of the clip as she got used to appearing in front of the camera.
Kaz shot to fame this year after she made her debut into the Love Island villa at the start of the ITV2 series.
While she didn't have much luck at the start of the show, she then grew close to new boy Matthew who she decided to couple up with during Casa Amor.
Although Kaz coupled up with Irish hunk again on Tuesday, she also made a ‘wink’ at Tyler that suggested that the vlogger wasn't done with her ex villa partner.
On Wednesday night, Tyler then admitted to Clarisse that his head remains with Kaz, and it looked like things are on the way for their reunion.
It appears that Kaz's love triangle sparked some anger among viewers, who accused her of humiliating Matt.
“We can’t dismiss kaz’s awful behaviour. Using Matt as her lap dog to make Tyler jealous and shaming Tyler for his behaviour. Hypocrite,” wrote one critic.
Another added: "I'm so over kaz. She wanted both guys to be fighting for her. And yes she should have gone to Matt before the girls of course!"
In the latest twist of events, Tyler and Clarisse are one of the couples that face being dumped from the island in tonight's episode. The remaining Love Islanders now get to decide who remains in the villa.
