Kayon Williams: Body found in River Thames after search for woman who vanished in London

The body of a woman has been pulled out of the River Thames.

TikTok blogger Kayon Williams, 24, went missing after a night out with her friends in Market Place, close to Oxford Circus on Pride weekend.

Police launched a desperate search for her and released an image Ms Williams in the pink dress and white heels she was wearing when she was last seen.

Sadly, they said on Wednesday that a body of a woman was found in the River Thames between Waterloo and Blackfriars Bridge in central London on Tuesday evening during their search for Ms Williams.

They wait for formal identification but her family have been informed.

Her close friends paid tribute to her and thanked all those who joined the search.

In a statement posted to Twitter, they said: “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you all that Kayon has passed away. No words can describe how we feel.

“We would like to thank everyone for their help in trying to locate her.

“We want Kayon to know that we will always love her and she will be greatly missed.”

A Met Police spokesperson tweeted: “While formal identification awaits, the family of 24-year-old Kayon Williams, who had been reported missing from Newham, have been informed.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
