Kayky sends emotional message ahead of Man City arrival

Kayky, the new Manchester City winger signed over the summer, appears to have confirmed his permanent exit from boyhood club Fluminese.

City completed a deal for Kayky, 18, for an initial £8.6m in a deal that could rise to £21m. The plan was for him to remain at Fluminese until January, but that plan looks to have moved forward.

Clips of the winger's skills and goals in Brazil have been exciting City fans on social media, and now it seems they could get a better look at him in the coming months as he leaves South America for East Manchester.

Posting a video of his highlights from his journey through the Fluminese system, Kayky wrote: "A cycle of almost 10 years for this team ends, happy for what I lived at [Fluminese].

"I would like to thank everyone who helped me get here from the committee to the club employees. I am grateful for every moment I spent and thank you for me show the world hugs [sic]."

Last week, the youngster opened up on City's plans for him, and his conversations with the club since signing.

“I was anxious from the first time they said there was a proposal from Manchester City. It was my dream to work with Pep Guardiola, I consider him to be one of the best coaches, and every day I got closer to joining, I got more anxious," he told Globo Esporte.

"I tried to stay focused here [at Fluminense], I had the whole season ahead of me. But it gets close to the arrival date, and it hits like when you enter the pitch. It’s too good to feel that.

“I had [a conversation] with the Director of Football at City, but with him [Guardiola] directly, I haven’t had the opportunity yet. They have a project for me, I will still sit with them when I get there and see what’s best.”
