Summer signing Kayky has admitted he felt anxious about the approach from Manchester City but admitted it is a "dream" to be working with the Pep Guardiola.
The 18-year-old winger admitted he spoke to Txiki Begiristain, the City Sporting Director, but has yet to speak to Guardiola as he awaits the project in place for him.
Liverpool were also said to be plotting a move for him but the Premier League champions won the race for his signature.
The Brazilian youngster signed for City during the summer transfer window for £9million, but won't join until January. But with the date set, he's excited to be officially confirmed.
It has been a disappointing season so far for Kayky's club, Fluminense, who are 11th in Brazil's Serie A, 17 points behind Atletico Mineiro. But he's opened up about his move to City and why it's the fulfilment of a dream.
“I was anxious from the first time they said there was a proposal from Manchester City. It was my dream to work with Pep Guardiola, I consider him to be one of the best coaches, and every day I got closer to joining, I got more anxious," he told Globo Esporte.
"I tried to stay focused here [at Fluminense], I had the whole season ahead of me. But it gets close to the arrival date, and it hits like when you enter the pitch. It’s too good to feel that.
“I had [a conversation] with the Director of Football at City, but with him [Guardiola] directly, I haven’t had the opportunity yet. They have a project for me, I will still sit with them when I get there and see what’s best.”
