A kayaker was rescued from a Loch Lomond island after travelling from England over the Easter weekend.
The traveller had taken to the bonnie banks to camp on the island of Inchtavannach.
But after going for a walk around the piece of land he found himself trapped when he discovered the paddle for his kayak had gone missing.
The man phoned police around 1.50pm on Tuesday last week to tell them he was trapped and the Loch Lomond rescue boat was dispatched.
He was taken with his camping equipment from the 70 hectare island, one of the biggest in the loch, back to the mainland.
Current coronavirus rules in Scotland ban travel outside your own council area and crossing borders between the different UK countries is also banned.
A statement issued by the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat warned about sticking to the travel rules.
It read: “At 13:50 on 6/4/21 Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were paged by Police Scotland.
“A person that had been camping on the west side of inchtavannach reported that after going for a walk around the island, he returned to his kayak to find the paddle missing.
“The Rescue Boat was launched and located the person on the island and safely transferred himself and his equipment over to his car at Aldochly.
“LLRB then returned to Luss and stood down.
“This person had traveled from England to camp on the Island for the Easter weekend.
“Please could we remind all to stick to the Covid rules and keep people safe.”
