You can now book up to experience Newcastle's River Tyne in a very different way, with the launch of kayaking sessions on the famous stretch of water.
Famed for its seven bridges spanning the steep Tyne Gorge, the Quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead is best experienced from the water.
There is no jostling for position as you quietly paddle beneath the bridges, snapping pictures and enjoying the view as you go.
Kayak trips start at NE1's City Marina, which is on the Newcastle side of the Tyne, just to the west of the Tyne Bridge .
The route passes all of the seven of the Quayside's bridges and finished back at the Marina.
The sessions, run by Cullercoats Bike & Kayak, returned for 2019 on Friday and you can now book up for a tour HERE.
To take part in of one the kayak tours, you should: have a good standard of fitness, able to undertake moderate physical activity without difficulty; have no difficulties lifting one end of the kayak (approx. 10kg) and be comfortable in a sitting position for up to two hours.
Children aged 12-17 are welcomed, but must be with an adult.
The prices for the kayak trips range from £34.50 - £44.50 and they are running until Sunday, September 1.
There is also the option to book in a private tour for friends, family or work colleagues. Dates and times are flexible.
Prices start from £315 for the first group of up to 8 people, additional places are then priced at £44.50 per person.
