Kawhi Leonard thanks Toronto restaurants for all that free food

While Kawhi Leonard was busy leading the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA championship, local businesses were trying to figure out how to convince Leonard to sign a long-term deal to stay in Canada.

Several restaurants in Toronto joined the “Ka’wine and Dine” movement, which offered Leonard free food for life he chose to stay with the team.

At his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, Leonard thanked the Raptors organization and fans, and explained that he didn’t share a written note earlier because he doesn’t “have social media.” Leonard also made a point to thank the restaurants of Toronto – and said that he took advantage of Ka’wine and Dine while it lasted.

Better luck next time, Toronto. At least you’ll always have a banner in the rafters.
