Kawhi Leonard shuts down report about purchasing a home in Toronto

Kawhi Leonard’s impending free agency decision has been a constant area interest in Toronto — even as the Raptors find themselves one win shy of an NBA title.

There’s already been an effort from Toronto restaurants to sway his decision with free food for life — called the Ka’Wine and Dine initiative. Leonard was even offered a free penthouse condo to stay with the Raptors.

But matters really took a turn for the better (at least for Raptors fans) when Michael Landsberg of Toronto 1050 reported that Leonard purchased a house in Toronto. There were no public record backing up the claim, but had Leonard bought a home in Toronto, it would have obviously signaled good news for the Raptors.

On Sunday, Leonard put a stop to those rumors. He was specifically asked about the report during his press conference and denied it.

Leonard said:

“No, it didn’t. It didn’t happen yet, no.”

The Raptors star will be a free agent after this postseason. He purchased a home outside of San Diego earlier this year.
